1871 Report headingThe cost of treating patients in Dorset County Hospital was met from subscriptions, donations, bequests and church collections. The earliest published list of subscribers known to survive dates from 1843 (just two years after the hospital opened its doors).   The unpublished Treasurer’s Accounts also contain lists of subscribers and, before the hospital opened, lists of subscribers were published in the Sherborne Mercury.
