CASE HISTORY
- “The following is a list of the patients discharged from the Bath Hospital during the last month … RELIEVED. … Ambrose Wellman, Woodsford, Dorset, … paralysis.” [Bath Chronicle, 27/05/1852, p. 4]
- “ACCIDENTS.–Two accidents, though not of a very serious nature, have been admitted into the Dorset County Hospital. Ambrose Wellman, a carrier, of Woodsford, with broken leg from a fall, … Both are progressing favourably.” [Sherborne Mercury, 27/02/1866, p. 5]
- 1881 census – Ambrose Wellman, formerly ag lab, cripple, aged 60, unmarried, born Woodsford, head of the family living at Woodsford, with sister, Rebecca Wellman, cripple, aged 52, unmarried, and brother Benjamin Wellman, formerly ag lab, cripple, aged 48, unmarried.
