CASE HISTORY

  1. “FATAL ACCIDENT.–On Saturday last a lad named Solomon Squibb, residing at Hartsfoot Lane, was proceeding homewards with a waggon from this town, when, by some means he slipped from the shaft on which he was riding, under the wheels, which passed over his body.  He was immediately conveyed to the Dorset County Hospital, when it was found that several of his ribs were broken besides having sustained other severe injuries. The poor lad died in great agony on Sunday afternoon.” [Salisbury & Winchester Journal, 08/11/1856, p. 3]
